After months of speculation, President Biden announced his intent to nominate the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget—currently Deputy Director Shalanda Young—to become the permanent leader. He also announced his pick to replace Young as deputy director.

  Several months ago, AFGE surveyed the membership to assess your experiences working during the COVID-19 pandemic and determine to what extent members want to continue teleworking going forward. The survey demonstrated how successful employees have been working largely remotely during the pandemic and verified that most employees do not want to go back to their pre-pandemic work schedules once the health crisis is behind us. Union leaders will be using the results of this survey to guide our conversations with agencies as they evaluate current and future telework and remote work arrangements for a post-pandemic environment.
